Pronunciation and morphology notes

Ten thousand is ichi-man, with the leading ichi- kept (unlike hyaku and sen). Man is the boundary unit where Japanese 4-digit grouping diverges from English 3-digit grouping. 10,000 = 1-man; 100,000 = ju-man (10 mans); 1,000,000 = hyaku-man (100 mans); 10,000,000 = sen-man (1000 mans); 100,000,000 = 1-oku (next unit up). The daiji form 萬 (the traditional / formal variant) is required on cheques and high-value contracts.
